Whether your car is old or new, it needs regular maintenance and servicing. Cars can serve you well and for a very long time if you keep your cars in A1 condition.
Not only that you spend big amount of money on constant car repairs and trips to the repair shops but it is also a waste of time. That’s why there are people who routinely work on their own car simply to cut cost. However, cars of today are very sophisticated and full of computers and electrical devices that repairing your own car can be so complicated. A proper diagnosis from the mechanic could be beneficial and you have no choice then but to bring it your repair shop. But if you are ignorant about car repairing & maintenance, mechanics in some car repair shops can take advantage of your lack of knowledge.
It is a fact, that the average person doesn’t know about their cars let alone how much auto spare parts cost and how much labor time a repair should take? How sure are you then if your car mechanic is not pulling a scam on you? How many times did you think that the price seem exorbitant even for simple repairs? How many times have you suspected that you paid too much and yet couldn’t prove it? There are times when they spent additional time on diagnosing the problem and charge it by hiding it somewhere in the bill! Or, what if other car repair shops have slower mechanics, or worst deliberately takes time to prolong their work when they could have done it an hour sooner. Some repair shops even charged more than the standard labor time.
